Chris Collins, the visionary behind the project at Pindustry, saw the opportunity to elevate their venue’s appeal by adding an ice rink, especially during the winter season. They ended up installing the rink on their fascinating skydeck, which they wanted to use during winter.
For Chris, it’s not just about enhancing Pindustry; he believes ice skating should be a joy for all, particularly for communities seeking lively, engaging activities. He believes it should be shared with institutions nationwide, from universities to local restaurants: “It’s a great opportunity to bring something special to your building.”
Glice steps in right there, as our mission is crystal clear: to make ice skating accessible to more people and foster active, memorable moments for all to cherish. Since 2012, Glice has brought ice rinks to places that have never had the opportunity to ice skate. With this new 9 x 25 m (30 x 83 ft) rink, there is lots of space for locals to try out this new activity.
Chris’ experience with the team “has been amazing” throughout the whole process, including installation, which took just three days. Pindustry was so happy with the outcome of the rink, which was set to be a rental project, that they purchased it, allowing for many more skating seasons to come. “It’s a great revenue source, and it gives the community something to do,” says Chris.
